Happy Teacher’s Day Papa
My Daughter greeted me with this.
I scratched my head and ask why?
My daughter replied, “ My teachers said that our parents are the first teacher in our life when we were born. From eating, to brushing, dressing, tying shoe lace, and many more!”
That makes sense. We are their first teacher until we delegate the academic aspect to the teachers. The small little skills that seems normal, that need our dedication and time to guide. It seems easy, but it takes conditioning and effort learn. Also our Values, Beliefs and Culture passing down to them.
How much values our kids are shaped by us? Values are not only being taught. Is also being caught!
How we speak.
How we treat people.
How we emotion regulate with sadness and anger and disappointment.
How we deal with failure.
How we be vulnerable.
How we apologize.
My children picked up phrases from me like “buay tahan” and “jin jialat”
Concurrently they picked up responsibilities, honesty and respect.
If we are not the one that guide them. They are plenty more.

Are we giving away the chance to teach them gradually, or we can keep growing to be their teacher for life.
